Singer-songwriter Alex Tobin has just made history by becoming the first ever Australian to win “Best International Song” at the Australian Songwriters Association Awards.
With the award being dominated for years by overseas entrants, Alex's historical win has seen him begin to plant his his footprints on the music scene at such an early stage of his career.
"I've vowed to work hard as soon as I started and never let my enjoyment for songwriting go astray," says Alex. "Even with this amazing award, my passion stays the same as it did from day one".
His winning track “Last Call” which he recorded in Canada with producer and co-writer Neil Devereaux, delivers a lively and infectious sound.
Alex's other tracks include his beautifully melodic "By A String" and spurring rock track "Someday", giving listeners an appealing range of sound and emotion.
"It always feels great to write different theme songs. It keeps me motivated to keep developing myself as a songwriter".
Planning is underway to record and release Alex’s debut album in 2014 before hitting the road locally and beyond for an eagerly awaited tour.
